About us
The joint stock company PREMAKO with headquarters in Maťovce and branches in Maťovce and Košice was founded on 26. 07. 1993.
For more than 15 years, the company’s main activities have been transhipment, forwarding, storage of goods and railway management and operation.
The company operates in Maťovce, 2 km away from the border with the Ukraine, from a multimodal logistics centre with its own railway siding, which is situated directly in the railway border-crossing station Maťovce. The following activities are carried out at this PMK logistics centre:
- Transhipment of goods from 1 520 mm gauge railway wagons to 1 435 mm gauge railway wagons and vice versa,
- Transhipment of goods from railway wagons to lorries and vice versa,
- Processing of goods before or after transport,
- Storage of goods and other services in connection with the transhipment and processing of goods,
- Customs storage.
At the PMK logistics centre railway lines with 1 435 mm and 1 520 mm gauge and access for lorries are available. Here, the conditions for the transhipment of goods imported from or exported to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China, and Moldova as well as to and from other CIS countries and Asia are established.
Besides the railway lines and storage area, PREMAKO has five gantry cranes with a carrying capacity of 10 to 20 tonnes. With the help of binding facilities and equipment such as high lift, loaders and a lorry crane, PREMAKO is able to tranship a wide range of goods. The transpumping of liquid goods is not carried out.
The management, administrative, economic and business activities, including domestic and international forwarding, are carried out in Košice.
Quality Management System
In 2005 the company introduced and still uses Quality Management System ISO 9001:2000 for all its transhipment and forwarding services. In 2007 the company QSCert, Ltd performed an audit of the certification, which demonstrated that the management system is in compliance with the requirements of the standard mentioned above. This was confirmed by a control audit carried out in October 2008. The company is an ordinary Member of the Association of Logistics and Freight Forwarding of the Slovak Republic.
